Tufts summer vet programs


















We strongly encourage applicants who live within commuting distance to apply for the High School Day Session. The High School Residential Sessions are extremely competitive and seats are limited in availability. Because applications are submitted from students worldwide, preference for the residential sessions is given to qualified applicants who are from outside the local area.

To Be Determined. Classes begin daily at 9 a. Monday through Friday, with field trips on the weekends and social activities in the evenings. The final day of programming has an early release at approximately noon. High School Sessions 6 and 8 are residential sessions with housing included.

Participants stay in a dormitory at nearby Assumption University with adult chaperones. Apply Now! Summer Research Opportunities The summer research opportunities can be paid or unpaid depending on the research project or grant and will vary depending on the doctor the student is working for. Students and scientists have made great strides in wildlife medicine through various important projects: Creation of a Biobank of serum specimens for investigation into emerging infectious disease patterns in the region.

Study on the extent to which birds of prey are exposed to anticoagulant rodenticides prompted by clinical cases treated at Tufts Wildlife Clinic. Work with loons, eagles, and other species that has led to broad educational initiatives, scientific publications, and environmental legislation. Wildlife CSI to investigate wildlife-related crimes, changes in wildlife health and mortality patterns in the region, and emerging infectious diseases and parasites causing their illness.

William Karlin Mike. Armele de Laforcade armelle. If she had to pick a spirit animal, she would go with an otter. Ilana is a junior double majoring in biology and Russian along with a minor in Judaic studies.

She would like to specialize in small animal surgery. And while she has these canines, her spirit animal is a bunny. Gabriel is a freshman majoring in biology. He really likes the idea of going into mixed practice. This evidenced by his numerous animals in Pennsylvania including an Iceland Sheepdog-Border Collie mix named Emma along with another dog, two cats, cows, a horse, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and last but not least, an alpaca named Michael.

Despite the variety of pets he has, his spirit animal is the incomparable howler monkey, gabriel. Fannie is a sophomore double majoring in English and child development.

She is most interested in surgery and wildlife medicine.
